Associate Professor Michelle Wise

Associate Professor Michelle Wise is the Deputy Head of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of Auckland, and a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Dr Wise chaired the development of the inaugural clinical guideline on abortion care in New Zealand. She currently has several funded research projects, supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students, and teaches all aspects of women’s health. Beth trained at Guys and St Thomas' in London, graduating in 2000. She moved to New Zealand in 2004 and has been working in sexual and reproductive health for almost 20 years. Dr Maritza Farrant

Dr Maritza Farrant

MBChB, MPH, FRACP Maritza is a general and reproductive endocrinologist at Te Toka Tumai, Te Whatu Ora.  After completion of advanced training, Maritza worked at the University of Washington (UW) in the area of male reproductive endocrinology and coauthored publications in hormonal male contraception. She has a Master of Public Health from UW and also worked in a public health capacity in the US during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since returning to NZ, Maritza has developed a special interest in Women's Health and endocrinology. Dr Anil Sharma

Dr Anil Sharma

Anil has worked in public hospitals for 26 years and now works in gynaecology private practice from his own rooms next to Ascot Hospital. His key interests are menstrual problems including fibroids, ovarian cysts, urogynaecology (prolapse and urinary incontinence) and endometriosis. He undertakes complex hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and vaginal-access surgery as well as endometrial ablation. Associate Professor Helen Roberts

Associate Professor Helen Roberts

After my medical degree at Trinity College Dublin, I worked at the Rotunda Hospital and then King’s College Hospital in London. In 1983 I came to New Zealand and joined Family Planning, becoming the Medical Director and National Medical Spokesperson from 1988-1992. In 1991 I completed the MPH at Yale University in New Haven and on my return took up an academic position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Auckland. I was Associate Professor of Women’s Health until my retirement at the end of 2017. At present, I continue my contraception and menopause clinic at Greenlane Clinical Centre and work as a certifying consultant at Epsom Day Unit.
