This review is intended as an educational resource for community pharmacists. It discusses recommendations for paediatric pain management produced by the Australasian College of Pharmacy (ACP) in 2023, in a publication titled — Management of Acute Pain and Fever in Children: A guideline for pharmacists. The principal purpose of the guideline is to provide evidence-based recommendations for pharmacists to guide caregivers on appropriate treatments, lifestyle advice, and when to seek further medical assessment for childhood pain or fever. Evidence identified from studies, guidelines and reviews informed the Recommendations, which were assigned preliminary grades based on evidence quality: A (high), B (moderate), C (low), and D (very low).
