Welcome to our review of the 3rd Australian Lung Cancer Conference (ALCC), the largest ALCC to date, with over 400 attendees across the 4-day event.
This bi-annual conference is endorsed by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and
provides a forum for international experts to share the latest opinions, trends and insights relating to the
theory and practice of multidisciplinary team care, non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer and
mesothelioma. Plenary sessions are relevant, interactive and focused on producing an outcome relative
to multidisciplinary care.
The following study abstracts were selected and reviewed by Dr Tim Christmas, Respiratory Physician
at Auckland District Health Board Respiratory Services – Greenlane Hospital, and by Dr Richard Sullivan,
Director Cancer and Blood HSG Auckland Hospital and Clinical Director Northern Cancer Network.
