This is a review of the New Zealand Hepatitis Network Meeting, held in Auckland on 26th June 2014. Presentations included coverage of key highlights from the 49th Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver and a clinical trials update from Auckland Clinical Studies. Details were discussed concerning a new initiative launched by Body Positive New Zealand offering screening for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection within existing HIV services. Confidential, rapid testing provides fast results and creates the opportunity to refer patients to treatment. The concluding session presented the opportunity for a panel discussion around aspects from three case studies illustrating stratification of risk, with a focus on how to determine the best treatment strategy for patients (immediate or delayed therapy). This meeting was attended by Hepatologists and Gastroenterologists, General Physicians, Clinical Researchers and Nurse Specialists
