Speaker Series: Optimising throughput in the ED with innovative analgesic strategies

This speaker series summarises two presentations sponsored by Medical Developments International. The first presentation, given by Dr Carlos Lojo Rial, an UK Emergency physician, focused on the evidence base supporting the use of methoxyflurane for emergency pain, as well as outlining how this agent was incorporated into a busy Emergency Department (ED) in London. Arlene Bannon, an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in Sydney, illustrated the benefits of using methoxyflurane in the hospital ED by presenting a patient case study. Locally Ally Voschezang, Charge Nurse, presents a case study at a South Auckland urgent care centre. This resource was created with funding from Douglas Pharmaceuticals.
