This publication is an overview of the pathogenesis and management of atopic dermatitis in infants and
children. The main focus of the article is the contribution of epidermal dysfunction to the development
of atopic dermatitis and the role of moisturisers in the treatment of paediatric atopic dermatitis and
potentially in its prevention.
